Tough Start for the White Sox 😣

The game kicked off on a rough note for us as the Mariners' offense came out swinging. After a quick out by Robles, Arozarena's infield single set the stage. Then, to our dismay, Cal Raleigh smacked a two-run homer off the left center wall. Just like that, we were down two-nothing. Our boys couldn't respond in the bottom of the first, with Nicky Lopez, Tommy Pham, and Luis Robert Jr. all going down in order. 😩

More Trouble in the Second Inning 😕

The second inning wasn't any kinder to us. After Dylan Moore snagged a ground rule double and Mitch Haniger walked, Moore eventually scored on a fielder's choice. The Mariners tacked on another run before we finally closed the inning. Our offense continued to struggle as only Eloy Jiménez managed to reach base before Andrew Benintendi grounded into a double play. White Sox score: 0, Mariners score: 3. 🥺

Error-Plagued Third Inning 😟

The third inning was a bit of a disaster. Paul DeJong had two errors, which allowed the Mariners to stretch their lead to 5-0. We finally showed some life in the bottom of the inning when Korey Lee singled and Lopez followed with another single. Pham's RBI single got us on the board, but that was all we could manage. White Sox score: 1, Mariners score: 5. 😠

Fourth and Fifth Inning – Mariners Hold Us Down 🙄

The Mariners scored another in the top of the fourth, taking a commanding 6-1 lead. Despite a ground rule double by Brooks Baldwin in the fifth, we couldn't capitalize. It felt like every hard-hit ball was going straight at a Mariners fielder.

Late Game Hope 🌟

In the seventh inning, Andrew Benintendi doubled to the right and Paul DeJong gave us hope with a massive 430-foot homer! That brought the score to 6-3. We needed a spark, and DeJong delivered. This was the kind of fight we wanted to see!

Eighth and Ninth Inning – Final Push ✊

Despite our efforts, the Mariners' bullpen proved to be too much. We managed only a couple of flyouts and a walk in the last two innings. The Mariners' pitcher Muñoz shut us down in the ninth, ending our chances for a comeback. Final score: White Sox 3, Mariners 6. 😔

It was a tough loss, but there were definitely some bright spots. Let's keep our heads up and look forward to the next game! Go White Sox! ⚾💪
