A Rocky Start for the Reds

The game began with a shaky start for our beloved Cincinnati Reds 😓. The Mariners' Dylan Moore struck a solo homer to center field immediately, giving the Mariners an early lead. Despite Julio Rodríguez managing to walk, our defense stepped up and kept the situation from escalating further. Unfortunately, the bottom of the first inning wasn't in our favor as our key players, TJ Friedl, Matt McLain, and Elly De La Cruz, couldn't get on base. End of the first: Reds 0, Mariners 1.

The Comeback Kids

Our Reds woke up in the bottom of the third inning! Jose Trevino kicked things off with a double, followed by Matt McLain's walk. Gavin Lux and Austin Hays delivered back-to-back singles, bringing home two runs and leveling the playing field. 🙌 As the inning closed, the score was tied at 2-2.

Offensive Surge Leads to Victory

The fifth inning was when things got truly exciting. Though Dylan Moore managed another homer for the Mariners, White jerseys took the spotlight. Gavin Lux hit another single, paving the way for Austin Hays to launch a three-run homer! 💥 We snagged the lead at 6-4. The eighth inning saw our team tack on two more runs, with Jake Fraley's ground-rule double leading to additional scores as Matt McLain and Elly De La Cruz added to the tally. A brilliant performance from the bullpen sealed the deal as the Mariners couldn't recover.

Bringing It Home

The top of the ninth was a testament to our pitchers' prowess. With Pagán on the mound, the Mariners struck out consecutively. We held the Mariners scoreless in the closing innings and wrapped up with a stellar victory of 8-4! 🎉 What a game, Reds fans! Onto the next win! Go Redlegs! 🍾⚾🥳
