A Tight Game in Cleveland
Hey Mariners fans!
Another game has gone down to the wire, and our guys put up a valiant fight against the Cleveland Guardians, but ended up just short with a final score of 3-4. It was an interesting matchup, and despite our late-game energy, the Guardians managed to inch out a win.The Guardians Draw First Blood
The game was a defensive battle early on, with both teams locked in a stalemate. Our Mariners couldn't capitalize on their early opportunities with Randy Arozarena doubling in the first inning and others being unable to bring him home. Meanwhile, the Guardians were the first to get on the scoreboard in the 4th inning, when Jose Ramirez reached third and a single from Bo Naylor brought him in. Things got a little tougher in the 6th inning when Kyle Manzardo crushed a two-run homer, putting the Guardians up 3-0.Late Rally Falls Short
But you know our Mariners, they never give up!
In the 7th inning, Jorge Polanco sparked some hope with a solo homer cutting the deficit to 3-1. Then, in the 8th inning, Julio Rodriguez powered a two-run homer that narrowed the gap to a single run, making it 4-3. Our hopes were lifted, but despite this spirited effort, the Guardians managed to hold us off in the final inning. It was a tense finish, with Eugenio Suarez, Polanco, and Luke Raley all striking out in the top of the 9th. Tough game, but lots to be proud of with our late rally! On to the next one, Mariners fans. Let's keep that spirit high!
