What a Comeback! Mariners Triumph Over Guardians
Hey Mariners fans! What a thrilling night over in Cleveland!
Early Innings Battles
The game started off a bit shaky on offense for both sides. Randy Arozarena had a tough start, fouling out to first in the opening inning. Things weren't clicking at first for our Mariners, but Cal Raleigh gave us a spark by getting on base when he was hit by a pitch in the 1st. The 2nd and 3rd innings didn't bring much for us offensively either, with Julio RodrÃguez managing a single in the 3rd, but the Guardians managed to pull ahead with a homer by Daniel Schneemann in the bottom of the 3rd, putting us behind 2-0.Arozarena’s Home Run Ties It Up!
The 5th inning was our time to shine! J.P. Crawford singled, setting the stage for Randy Arozarena who blasted a massive 421-foot homer into left center, driving in Crawford for a spectacular two-run shot.
RodrÃguez and Running the Score
The defining inning was the 7th. A series of strategic plays and a bit of luck helped our Mariners regain the lead. Julio RodrÃguez reached on an infield single, allowing both Crawford and Cole Young, who had walked earlier, to score. This sudden swing shifted the score to 4-2, in favor of our Mariners!
Closing It Out!
From there, our bullpen held firm. Penn Murfee, Matt Brash, and finally Andrés Muñoz closed the game in the 9th. An exhilarating moment came as Muñoz struck out Steven Kwan and Daniel Schneemann, and José RamÃrez lined out to end the game.It was a true team effort! Congratulations Mariners, and let’s keep this momentum going. Go M’s!
