Tigers Start Strong, but Fall Short

What started as a promising evening took a harsh turn for our beloved Tigers as they faced the Seattle Mariners. The game kicked off with a solid defense in the first inning, with Tarik Skubal successfully holding the Mariners at bay. Colt Keith may have struck out looking 😟, but we were hopeful with Gleyber Torres drawing a walk early on.

Early Struggles Yet Promising Moments

In the first few innings, the Mariners slowly chipped away. Donovan Solano made his mark with a triple that scored Jorge Polanco. Despite that, our Riley Greene and Zach McKinstry showed us sparks of potential, each landing hits to bring us to a thrilling tie in the 4th inning 🎉. Gleyber Torres and Wenceel Pérez kept the momentum with patient and decisive plays, setting up for our first equalizer as McKinstry drove Torres home!

A Tough Conclusion

Entering the 5th inning at 1-1, it was anyone's game. However, despite a spirited defense and the reliable swings of our offensive lineup, the Mariners pulled ahead with a home run by Julio Rodríguez and later expanded their lead with another home run in the 8th by Cal Raleigh. Into the 9th, a relentless rally by the Mariners proved difficult to counter as errors bogged us down, resulting in a tough 12-3 final score.

Though today's game was challenging, let's not forget the highlights and tenacity our Tigers continue to display 🌟. There will always be another day down on the diamond, and we remain confident in our team's prowess. Onward and upward, Detroit! 🐯
