A Rocky Start But a Promising First Inning

The Tigers got off to a promising start with Dillon Dingler delivering a clutch double, driving in both Gleyber Torres and Spencer Torkelson to give Detroit an early 2-0 lead! 🚀 However, despite the scoreless top of the first by our pitchers thanks to some heads-up defense including a double play, the bats dimmed in subsequent innings, and we let the Mariners creep back in.

Mariners Fire Back but Tigers Hold Steady

In the 3rd, Julio Rodríguez of the Mariners managed to homer (363 feet), trimming our lead to 2-1. The following innings saw Randy Arozarena tie the game with a solo homer (405 feet) in the 4th inning, but our defense tightened up to maintain a holding pattern through the 6th. We were showing some Tiger tenacity at this point, but needed an offensive spark to regain control.

A See-Saw Battle Turns into a Heartbreaker

Entering the 7th inning, the Mariners nudged ahead 3-2 with Mitch Garver homering to left-center. However, Riley Greene swung momentum back in our favor with a magnificent shot to right (386 feet), putting us up 4-3! 🔥 Unfortunately, the lead was short-lived as the relentless Mariners smacked consecutive home runs in the 9th, coupled with a few small mistakes from our end, leading to a final score of 8-4 Mariners. Despite the valiant effort, the game slipped away proving baseball is a game of inches and sometimes, ultimate heartbreak. But Tigers fans know, we'll roar again stronger! 🐯

Let's keep our spirits high and look forward to the next game! Always proud, always faithful, #LetGoTigers!
