An Exciting Comeback Just Falls Short
Today was one of those nail-biting games that we, Twins fans, live for! What a rollercoaster it was at Target Field as the Twins showed some real resolve and grit against the Mariners. Although we came just short, losing 6-5, the fight our team displayed was heartening, especially after a rough start.
Eventful 3rd and 4th Innings
The Mariners capitalized on a few mistakes early on, scoring 5 runs in the top of the 3rd. However, Kody Clemens was having none of it and gave us some much-needed hope with a solo home run in the bottom of the 3rd. But it was the 4th inning that truly electrified the crowd! Trevor Larnach doubled, Brooks Lee and Carlos Correa followed up with singles, and then Ryan Jeffers brought everyone roaring to their feet with a two-run double to tie it up at 5-5!
A Heartbreak in the 9th
A tight and tense game followed until the Mariners managed to scratch across a run in the top of the 9th, taking a slim 6-5 lead. We were hoping for another dramatic comeback, but unfortunately, Mariners pitcher Brash closed the door on us in the bottom of the inning. Despite the loss, the team’s tenacity and the raucous atmosphere in the stadium remind us why we love Twins baseball. And hey, we'll get them next time, right?
Here's to the next game, where we bring the heat and the cheers even louder! Go Twins!
