Tough Night at Petco Park

Padres fans, it was a challenging night at Petco Park as our boys faced the Seattle Mariners. Despite a significant effort, we fell short with a final score of 4-1 in favor of the Mariners. 🌧️ The game started off as a pitching duel with both teams struggling to get runners across the plate in the initial innings.

Bright Spark in the Fourth

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Gavin Sheets put us on the scoreboard first with a booming home run to center field, covering 401 feet. 🎉 This lifted our spirits as we took the lead 1-0. But unfortunately, it was the only run we could muster against the Mariners' pitching.

Mariners Rally Back

The Mariners didn't stay silent for long. Rowdy Tellez matched Gavin's effort with a solo homer in the fifth, leveling the score. 🏏 In the seventh inning, Cal Raleigh and later Dylan Moore added to the damage, pushing the Mariners ahead 4-1.

Missed Opportunities

We had our chances, notably in the fifth inning when Fernando Tatis Jr. doubled with two men in scoring position, but we couldn’t get anything home. It was one of those nights where getting that crucial hit remained elusive. Tatis and Xander Bogaerts did their best, each putting pressure on the Mariners with timely hits.

Looking Forward

Despite the loss, it's games like these that build character. We can take solace in the solid defensive plays and the heart shown on the field. Next game, we bounce back stronger! 💪 Let's keep supporting our guys, Padres Nation! We trust and believe in our team! See you next game! ⚾💚
