A Promising Start
Our Seattle Mariners put up a valiant effort against the San Francisco Giants, but alas, we fell just short with a final score of 4-5. The energy was palpable as Julio Rodríguez got us on the board early with a stellar solo homer to left center, covering an impressive 423 feet! Then, Cal Raleigh showed his power with a 347-foot blast to right in the third inning, giving us a comfortable 2-0 lead early in the game.
Momentum Shifts
Unfortunately, our lead was challenged in the fourth inning. The Giants rallied back with a game-changing homer by Mike Yastrzemski, taking the lead 4-2.
Fighting Back
The Mariners didn't quit though! Ryan Bliss gave us some hope in the sixth inning with a clutch single to left, scoring Luke Raley, trimming the Giants' lead to one run. And then in the ninth, it was Randy Arozarena's time to shine, delivering a massive double to left, scoring Victor Robles and tying the game at 4-4! The tension was off the charts as we neared a potential victory!
Heartbreaking Finish
Despite our efforts, the bottom of the ninth proved to be the decisive blow. A single from pinch-hitter Wilmer Flores allowed Luis Matos to score, sealing the win for the Giants. Of course, it's never easy losing such a tight game, but our team showed heart throughout. Let's take this tenacious spirit forward as we face more challenges in the season ahead. Always proud to be a Mariners fan!
