A Rough Start for the Mariners
Tough day at the office for us Mariners fans as our boys faced off against the Rays, but it wasn't quite our game from the start. The Mariners kicked things off at the top of the 1st with hopes high, but Randy Arozarena flied out to right, followed by Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodríguez both getting out as well. No early momentum meant the Rays had their chance in the bottom half, and they didn’t let it slip. Chandler Simpson grounded out, but an explosion of hits followed, including a single each from Junior Caminero and Josh Lowe, quickly putting the Rays up 4-0.Rays Keep the Pressure On
The struggles continued for the Mariners into the 2nd inning with Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suárez going down swinging. Jorge Polanco attempted to rally with a single, but was thrown out stretching it at second. Meanwhile, the Rays kept their foot on the gas with Bob Seymour and Chandler Simpson adding to the hits. In some unfortunate moments for us, Mangum advanced on a passed ball, creating more opportunities, firmly closing out the inning with the Rays leading 8-0.
Mariners Finally Push Back
Our boys finally showed some life in the 6th inning

A Game to Forget, But Hope Remains
Sadly, the Rays wrapped it up in the 9th inning, maintaining their 9-4 lead. It was a challenging game for the Mariners, and while it's tough to see the Rays celebrate, we've got to keep our heads up. Baseball is a long season, and these moments are part of the journey. We'll bounce back, and there's always the next game for Julio Rodríguez and our Mariners to shine.
