First Inning: A Rough Start
The game started with a hiccup for our beloved Texas Rangers. J.P. Crawford of the Mariners stunned us all with a homer to right field right off the bat, leaving us down 0-1 early. Our lineup couldn’t counter in the bottom of the inning. Despite Wyatt Langford hitting a single, a strikeout left him caught stealing at second base.
Holding the Line: Defensive Battles
Both teams showed admirable defensive skills in the next few innings. It felt like a tug-of-war as each side tried to grab control but couldn’t quite clinch it. Jonah Heim was our shining moment in the fourth inning, driving Corey Seager home with a single to equalize the score at 1-1. Our hearts soared with hope, and the game was finally wide open again!
Heartbreak in the 9th
Our hopes dwindled as the Mariners took the lead in the ninth inning. Jorge Polanco ignited their momentum with a double, and Rowdy Tellez drove in the winning run. In our final chance at the bottom of the ninth, Marcus Semien managed a walk, but unfortunately, A. García’s strikeout sealed our fate. The Mariners snatched a 2-1 victory.
Though we couldn’t pull through today, our Rangers played valiantly. We'll bounce back stronger next time! Let's keep our spirits up, Rangers fans!
