Rough Start for the Cardinals
The game began with a bit of hope as Ivan Herrera singled to right, but it quickly turned into a fielder's nightmare. Alec Burleson tried to advance Herrera with a sacrifice bunt, but unfortunately, the inning ended with Herrera stranded at second.
Diamondbacks Take Charge
In a frustrating second inning, the Diamondbacks broke the game wide open with Jose Herrera scoring after singles from Adrian Del Castillo and a couple of others. Geraldo Perdomo delivered a stinging single that allowed two more runs to cross the plate. By the end of the second inning, we trailed 3-0. Not looking too good for our Redbirds as the Diamondbacks extended their lead to 5-0 in the third.Cardinals Try to Rally
Despite the strong performances in previous games, our lineup struggled to make an impact against Arizona's pitching staff. We rarelу saw basе runners, and when they did appear, the Diamondbacks' defense shut us down. It wasn't until the 9th inning that the Cardinals showed some life. Victor Scott II got us on the board with a two-run homer, bringing in Pedro Pagés!
Looking Ahead
Overall, the game was a tough one to watch as a Cards fan. But if there's one silver lining, it's the late-game resilience. We know our Cardinals can bounce back! It's time to regroup for the next game and hopefully, snap the losing streak. Let's go, Cards!
