Tough Loss at Home Against the Cardinals
The Braves put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell short to the Cardinals with a final score of 9-5. The game featured some high-octane offense and electric moments from our Braves, but the Cardinals managed to keep their foot on the gas.1st Inning: Fast Start for Both Teams
The Cardinals took an early lead in the first inning with Masyn Winn tripling to right and scoring on a sacrifice fly by Alec Burleson. But our Braves responded quickly with Jarred Kelenic tripling to center and Ozzie Albies driving him in with a single. The inning ended tied at 1-1 after the middle of the first. The Cardinals broke the game open in the second inning. Nolan Gorman hit a two-run homer, followed by hits from Burleson and Willson Contreras that drove in three more runs for a total of 4 runs in the inning. Braves Score: 1, Cardinals Score: 54th Inning: Ozuna Goes Yard!
Just when it seemed like the Cardinals had control, Marcell Ozuna launched a solo homer to left, narrowing the gap. That was a huge moment to keep the Braves' spirits high! Braves Score: 2, Cardinals Score: 55th and 6th Inning: Fighting Back With Power!
Despite Brendan Donovan adding another run with a homer in the 5th inning, our Braves rallied. In the 6th inning, Austin Riley smashed a homer to center, followed by back-to-back dingers from Ozuna and Eddie Rosario! They closed the gap to just one run. In the bottom of the 9th, Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall, and Sean Murphy were all retired in order, sealing a tough loss to the Cardinals.
