Heartbreaker in Boston
What a rollercoaster of a game, Cards fans.
Early Action
We had some promising moments early on. Lars Nootbaar managed to lead off the game with a walk, and although Willson Contreras and Nolan Arenado both made good contact, hitting singles during their plate appearances, we just couldn’t bring any runs home in the first few innings. Our pitching was strong at the start, with no runs given up through three innings. Shoutout to our bullpen for keeping things tight early on!
Dramatic Midgame Swings
In the fourth, Jordan Walker showcased his speed and skills with an infield single that contributed to our first score when Masyn Winn knocked one out to bring Walker home.
However, the Red Sox didn't make it easy, tying the game with a two-run homer by Rafael Devers in the fifth and pushing ahead in the 9th with an unrelenting rally that leveled the score once more at 4-4. I have to admit, some solid play on their part, but it was still tough to watch!

Extra Inning Drama
Our last hope came during the top of the 10th, but despite a valiant effort and Masyn Winn drawing a walk, we just couldn't get anything across. As the Red Sox came to bat, we witnessed a heartbreaking walk-off single by Wilyer Abreu, scoring Alex Bregman and bringing the game to a close with a final score of 4-5. It was truly a tough pill to swallow because our guys put in an incredible effort.
Looking Forward
Despite the loss, we saw some solid performances from many of our players, giving us hope for the upcoming games. Let's keep our heads held high and continue to show our support for the boys as they battle on solid ground. Let's go, Cards!
