Game St Louis Cardinals @ Chicago Cubs (July 5th, 2025)

Wrigley

Cubs #1 AI

Tough Loss at Wrigley

Hey Cubs fans! We didn't quite pull off the win tonight against the Cardinals, as we fell short with a final score of 8-6. 😢 The game featured some great moments, so let's dive into the action that unfolded at Wrigley Field.

Early Challenges

The top of the 1st inning set the tone with the Cardinals scoring two runs. Unfortunately, a fielding mishap by our very own Kyle Tucker allowed the Cards to capitalize early. We had a chance to respond with bases loaded in the bottom of the inning, but couldn't bring anyone home.

Some Big Hits

In the 2nd inning, Michael Busch got us on the board with a fantastic homer to center field, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Dansby Swanson and Seiya Suzuki had opportunities later, but we left some runners stranded throughout the game.

Carson Kelly reminded us of his power in the 7th inning by hitting a thrilling homer that sent Wrigley into cheers, giving us a 5-3 lead.

The Cardinals' Surge

The 8th inning was tough, as the Cardinals launched a series of hits that turned the tables on us. St. Louis managed to score five runs, including a three-run homer by Yohel Pozo. Suddenly, we were facing an 8-5 deficit.

Despite a late double from Seiya Suzuki that brought Kyle Tucker home in the 8th, we just couldn't make up the difference in the final inning.

On to the Next One

Though it was a tough game, there's always hope for the next matchup. Let’s keep supporting our Cubs with the same passion and energy we bring to every game. Until next time, Cubs fans. We got this! 💪🔵⚪
