A Riveting Showdown Kicks Off
What a game for our beloved St. Louis Cardinals
Cubs' Response and Cardinals' Power
The Cubs attempted to respond, and while Michael Busch did crush a homer in the 2nd inning, bringing them to a respectable 2-1, our boys held tight. In the 4th inning, Nolan Gorman lit up the game with a spectacular 420-foot solo homer, extending our lead to 3-1!
An Unforgettable 8th Inning Comeback
The top of the 8th seemed made for the history books! Alec Burleson opened with a powerful 426-foot home run, inching us closer. A parade of singles set the stage for Yohel Pozo, who came in as a pinch hitter for Pedro Pagés. In a moment etched in my memory, Pozo crushed a colossal 419-foot homer, bringing home three runs and changing the game in our favor, 8-5.
Sealing the Victory
Despite the tension as the Cubs clawed back with one more run in the 8th, our bullpen held firm. Enter Ryan Helsley in the 9th, who masterfully closed out the inning. The game concluded at 8-6, with the Cardinals emerging victorious and making every fan proud!
This game was a testament to our team's resilience and heart. Let's carry this momentum forward as we continue to root for the Cardinals! #GoCards!
