The game started with some promise as Masyn Winn led off with a single, but the momentum was quickly squashed as Alec Burleson grounded into a double play. We couldn’t capitalize on any early opportunities and ended the first inning scoreless.Rough Third Inning
Things took a turn for the worse in the bottom of the third. Jonathan India slammed a three-run homer, followed by another solo shot from Tyler Stephenson. Before we knew it, we were down 4-0.More Woes in the Fifth
The fifth inning was another heartbreak with homeruns from India and TJ Friedl extending the Reds' lead. Errors by Brendan Donovan and Tommy Pham didn't help our cause either, allowing the Reds to score a total of three more runs, making it 7-0.Cardinals Show Signs of Life
We finally got something going in the sixth inning as Alec Burleson and Nolan Arenado drove in runs, cutting the deficit to 7-2. However, that was as close as we would get.Adding Insult to Injury
The Reds weren't done yet. TJ Friedl hit another homer in the seventh, and Elly De La Cruz's RBI double in the eighth sealed the deal, making it 9-2.Final Wrap Up
