A Tough Battle in Milwaukee

Our beloved St. Louis Cardinals gave their all before falling short to the Brewers in a closely contested 3-2 battle. Although it didn't turn out the way we wanted, the Cards displayed grit and determination throughout the game. Let's dive into the details!

Early Innings: A Pitcher's Duel

The game began with both teams shutting each other down in their respective halves of the innings. Lars Nootbaar and Masyn Winn each made contact but couldn't reach base, while Ivan Herrera was caught swinging in the 1st. Meanwhile, on the defensive side, we held off the Brewers without a hitch, with Matthew Liberatore working smoothly through their lineup. 🎯

Mid-Game Struggles

The Brewers broke the spell in the bottom of the 4th when William Contreras doubled home the first run, and again in the 6th with another sacrifice fly. Despite strong at-bats from Alec Burleson and Nolan Arenado tying up the game with their doubles in the 5th, it seemed fate was a bit unkind in the middle innings. 😤

Late Inning Drama

Never to be counted out, the Cardinals rallied late! In the 9th, Nolan Gorman launched a double to center, and with two outs Victor Scott II delivered a clutch single driving Gorman home. That set up the dramatic scenario as Scott II promptly stole second to place the tying run in scoring position. But alas, Nootbaar's valiant swing resulted in the final out, bringing the game to its heartbreaking conclusion.

While it wasn't our day, seeing our Cards fighting until the very end gives us hope for the next battle. Stay strong, Cardinals fans, and as always – Let's Go Cards! 🔴⚾
