Tough Game in Milwaukee for the Cards
Cardinals fans, it was a tough outing today as we took on the Brewers in Milwaukee. The game started off rough for us and didn't get much better throughout. Our boys went down 3-9 against the Brewers.Early Struggles and Missed Opportunities
The first inning was not kind to our Cardinals. Willy Adames of the Brewers hit a three-run homer to give Milwaukee the early lead. We couldn't get the bats going in the first, with Masyn Winn, Alec Burleson, and Nolan Arenado all failing to reach base.Bright Spots: Pagés Brings Some Light
There were definitely some highlights, though! Pedro Pagés showed up big time, hitting two solo home runs in the 3rd and 5th innings. Also, a double in the 6th inning by Paul Goldschmidt put runners in scoring position, and Luken Baker came in clutch with a sacrifice fly to bring the score to 5-3. A brief glimmer of hope!Late Inning Woes
Just when we thought we were mounting a comeback, Jackson Chourio of the Brewers crushed our dreams with a grand slam in the 6th inning. That put them up 9-3, and it was all but over from there. Our bullpen struggled, and we couldn't get any more runs across the plate.Final Thoughts
While it's always tough to see the Cards go down, there were some promising moments worth taking away. Pedro Pagés was outstanding, and Brendan Donovan had a solid outing with a couple of key hits. But with runners in scoring position, we just didn’t capitalize enough. It’s another day tomorrow, fellow Cardinals fans. Let’s get behind our boys and root for a stronger showing in the next game!
Final Score: Brewers 9, Cardinals 3
Let's go, Cardinals!
