Early Innings: Quiet Offense and Taut Defense
It was a tense start to the game with both teams showcasing some strong defensive skills. Our Lars Nootbaar got things going with a single in the third inning, but unfortunately, it didn't lead us to score that inning. Meanwhile, our pitching was superb, making the Phillies' key players struggle. Trea Turner and Bryce Harper got nothing but fresh air with their bats as they struck out in the first inning. The energy in the park was electric, and the fans truly felt like the game could swing in any team's favor.
Mid-Innings: Finding Our Groove
The fourth inning brought some life to our side as Nolan Arenado walked and took advantage of a wild pitch error by Phillies' Sánchez. Pedro Pagés, stepping up to the challenge, drove in Arenado with a fielder’s choice. Crisis averted, the Phillies answered by tying the game at 1-1, but our bullpen held them down for the most part. Then, in the sixth inning, Ivan Herrera launched a massive 389-foot home run putting us ahead!
Late Innings: Holding the Lead and Victory!
In a climatic seventh inning, Masyn Winn took the spotlight blasting a 377-foot home run. That's my boy, Winn!
