The early innings showcased some solid defense on both sides. Nolan Arenado, despite a fielding error later in the game, was his usual reliable self at the hot corner. Brendan Donovan managed a single in the first inning, but Pirates pitching held us in check as the game remained scoreless through the 1st.Middle Innings: Top-notch Defense
Our defense was just as formidable. In the bottom of the 6th, we saw a spectacular double play that kept the Pirates off the board. Young Victor Scott II, after a fantastic single, managed to steal second base in the 2nd inning. He continued to show tremendous hustle throughout the game.Late Innings: Breaking the Stalemate
After ten scoreless innings, the 12th inning finally broke the deadlock. Willson Contreras scored on a clutch single from Jordan Walker, putting St. Louis ahead 1-0.
