Heartbreak in Seattle

Well, folks, it was a tough one for our beloved Cardinals as we faced the Mariners in Seattle. The game began with both teams locked in a pitching duel, but in the end, our boys couldn’t hold onto the lead. Final score: Seattle Mariners 4, St. Louis Cardinals 2 😓.

Early Action and Highlights

The highlight for the Redbirds came in the top of the 4th inning. After Ivan Herrera singled to center, our hero Alec Burleson launched a towering home run, taking the ball 416 feet to dead center. How about that power! It gave us an early 2-0 lead and had cards fans dreaming of victory, though those dreams were short-lived.

Tough Break in the Sixth

The tide turned quickly in the bottom of the 6th. With Randy Arozarena and Julio Rodríguez leading the charge for the Mariners, they managed to scrape 4 runs against our bullpen, capitalizing on some tense moments. Josh Naylor was particularly menacing, doubling in two runs. By the time the dust settled, the Mariners had taken a 4-2 lead. Ouch! 😬

Closing Innings

It was a valiant effort by our lineup in the final innings, but sadly, the comeback was not to be. While Ivan Herrera did manage to draw a walk in the 9th, both Alec Burleson and Nolan Gorman fell to some powerful Mariners pitching. Here's hoping we can shake off this loss and bounce back stronger in the next one. Keep believing, Cardinals fans! 💪❤️
