Cardinals Dominate in an 8-3 Victory Over Nationals
What a game, Cardinals fans!
Our boys took the field against the Nationals and delivered a stellar performance to secure an 8-3 victory. Let's break down the action inning by inning!Slow Start, But Big Finish in the 2nd Inning
The game started off quietly with both teams not managing to score in the 1st inning. However, things heated up in the 2nd inning. After Brendan Donovan walked, Nolan Gorman doubled to left field, bringing Donovan home. Then, Dylan Carlson singled to right, allowing Gorman to score, putting us ahead 2-0 early on. Great teamwork!
Nationals Come Back, But We Strike Again
The Nationals did manage to tie the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning, but our Cardinals didn't let that slow them down. In the 4th inning, Paul Goldschmidt doubled to left and was brought home by another clutch single from Nolan Gorman. Cardinals back in the lead, 3-2.
The Fifth Inning Fireworks
Our offense truly came alive in the 5th inning! Masyn Winn walked and Alec Burleson reached first base on catcher's interference. Then, Willson Contreras singled to center, scoring Winn and moving Burleson to second. With both runners in scoring position, Nolan Arenado stepped up, hitting a single to left and bringing both Burleson and Contreras home, increasing our lead to 6-2. What an inning!
