A Solid Start
Oh man, I have to say our boys started off with a bang! The top of the 1st was a breeze with Burnes getting the Rays' first three batters out swiftly. Then, Corbin Carroll showed off his speed with a steal and later scored on Josh Naylor's single. Shoutout to Carroll for giving us that early lead. It was all about momentum early on with Gabriel Moreno and Alek Thomas combining beautifully, and Thomas's double gave us a sweet 3-0 lead by the end of the 2nd.
Diamondbacks' Spirit Shines Through
The fireworks continued into the 5th inning, with Tim Tawa delivering a solo home run. Boom! That extended our lead to 4-1, and it felt like the night was ours for the taking. However, the Rays chipped away, and their lucky break in the 6th brought them closer. A few errors crept in with costly mistakes that let the Rays back in the game, but our defense was pretty solid for most of the game.Heartbreak in Extras
The 9th inning dashed our hopes of closing it out, as the Rays managed to tie the game at 4-4. Our pitcher Miller tried to shut the door, but in the 10th, the Rays managed to break through. Junior Caminero and Christopher Morel did some damage for the Rays, and we couldn't quite recover. It was tough watching the final outs in the bottom of the 10th. Credit to our guys for fighting hard, especially Moreno and Suárez, who were hustling to the end. But we'll be back stronger! On to the next one, D-backs family! Stay proud.
Final Score: Arizona Diamondbacks 4, Tampa Bay Rays 7.
