Victory from the First Inning!
The Atlanta Braves came out swinging in the first inning, overcoming an early run by the Rays. After the top of the inning saw Tampa Bay take a 1-0 lead with an RBI double by Rosario, we quickly turned the tide. Michael Harris II led off with a single, followed by a double from Ozzie Albies. J.P. Martinez then ran for Harris II. Then, boom
! Marcell Ozuna hit a massive homer to right-center, bringing home Martinez and Albies to make it 3-1. Additional doubles from Matt Olson and Austin Riley helped extend the lead to 5-1 by the end of the inning. Riley's Power Surge
Austin Riley had the crowd on their feet again in the second inning with a 422-foot homer to left center, driving in Ozuna and extending our lead to 7-1. This was more than enough for our bullpen to hold down the fort, showcasing tenacious defense throughout the rest of the game.Shut Down the Rays
Our pitchers were lights out as the game went on. The Rays struggled to get anything going against us, with several players like Jose Siri and Jonny DeLuca striking out multiple times. Our bullpen was especially strong, with Chavez, Lee, and Iglesias holding Tampa Bay to just one more run in the final innings.Ending Strong!
While the Rays made some noise in the last innings, scoring a run each in the 7th and 9th innings, it wasn't enough to mount a comeback. Our defense held strong, clinching a well-earned 7-3 victory!
