It was the kind of matchup that kept us on the edge of our seats until the very last pitch but, in the end, our beloved Orioles clinched a victorious 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Rays. The game started off as a classic pitchers' duel, with both teams' defenses shutting down any hopes of an early lead. Despite a single from Yandy Díaz in the top of the 1st and our own Gunnar Henderson reaching an infield single, neither team could capitalize, leaving the score tied at 0-0 through the first inning.By the 2nd inning, the Rays managed to sneak ahead with Richie Palacios doubling and later scoring thanks to Ben Rortvedt's single. However, our Orioles, true to form, didn't let this set them back. The innings that followed were tense, with both teams struggling to make connections and put runs on the board.
Orioles' Offensive Breakthrough
It wasn't until the bottom of the 6th that the tides truly began to turn in our favor. After Anthony Santander singled and Austin Hays (hitting for Cedric Mullins) brought him home with another single, the game was tied, rekindling the hope in every Orioles fan's heart. The magic didn't stop there, though. Jorge Mateo doubled, scoring both Colton Cowser and Hays, marking a pivotal 3-run burst that blasted us ahead to a 3-1 lead.
