A Strong Defensive Start for the Sox
What a game, Sox fans!
Even though the game started slow with both sides not putting any points up on the board in the first two innings, the Boston Red Sox showed their dominance on the diamond. The top of the 1st saw our pitcher swiftly handle the Rays' lineup with ease. Jarren Duran demonstrated his prowess with a sharp single to center in the bottom of the 1st, but unfortunately, a missed opportunity came when he was picked off at first. The third inning is where things began to heat up! Marcelo Mayer started us off with a brilliant double to center, which set up the scene for some head-turning plays. Remember, even when you're out, you can still shake things up on the field! Mayer dashed his way across home plate from third, scoring on interference by Rays' third baseman Junior Caminero, getting us the first lead of the game.
With this sudden advancement, it felt like the Fenway faithful reignited, boosting our Sox.Rafaela's Rocket and Tightening the Grip
Both teams exchanged a run apiece in the next innings, maintaining a tight, nail-biting 1-1. But it was in the 6th inning that our boys truly shined. Roman Anthony and Trevor Story combined forces, first with Story's single bringing Anthony in for a run and then making his way to second base for an epic steal. And then the moment we all love—a home run!
Ceddanne Rafaela delivered a homer to left-center, bringing in Story and expanding the lead to 4-1. 
Pitchers kept the pressure on Tampa Bay by consistently striking out the Rays, with Garrett Whitlock and Aroldis Chapman sealing the game in the last innings, dispatching the side in the 9th with sheer efficiency.It's another win at Fenway, reinforcing why we love getting behind our Red Sox!
