Tough Day in the Bronx
The Tampa Bay Rays took on the New York Yankees in what turned out to be a challenging game with a final score of 1-6. Our boys had a rough outing against a determined Yankees squad.Promising Start, Unfortunate Finish
Top of the 1st showed some promise with Richie Palacios singling to left and stealing second, but strikeouts by Randy Arozarena and Brandon Lowe sandwiched around a flyout from Isaac Paredes left him stranded. The early innings continued to be tough for our hitters as strikeouts piled up.Yankees Pull Ahead
The Yankees began to pull ahead in the 3rd inning. Trouble began when Juan Soto and Judge got on base, followed by a pair of well-placed hits leading to a 4-run inning. A costly double from Anthony Volpe cleared the bases.Ray of Sunshine: B. Lowe's Homer
The highlight for us came in the 6th inning when Brandon Lowe smashed a solo homer to right center (384 feet). It was a much-needed boost of energy, though it turned out to be the lone run of the game for the Rays.Yankees Keep Adding On
Despite our bullpen's efforts, the Yankees added another run in the 6th thanks to an unfortunate throwing error by Randy Arozarena, allowing Juan Soto to score. The Yankees extended their lead to 6-1.Final Stand
The 9th inning offered a glimmer of hope as Jose Siri singled, but with two outs already, we couldn't capitalize. Ben Rortvedt struck out, and Jose Caballero lined out to left, sealing the tough loss.Conclusion
