Rough Start for the A's
Hey A's fans, it was a tough night at the Coliseum as our boys fell to the Rays 8-2. Things got off to a rocky start in the top of the first when our defense faltered. A pickoff error by Tyler Soderstrom and a throwing error by Shea Langeliers contributed to the Rays’ early four-run lead. Despite Cole Ginn settling in later, it was a difficult inning to watch.
Battling Back with Butler
In the midst of the struggle, Lawrence Butler gave us a moment to cheer as he crushed a homer to left center in the bottom of the third.
It's moments like these that remind us we have some bright talent on the roster — no matter the score. Later, Gio Urshela drove in Colby Thomas with a single in the fifth inning, cutting the lead slightly and giving the fans something to smile about. 
Couldn't Capitalize
Our bullpen kept us in the game for the middle innings, with James Harris, Zack Kelly, and Sean Newcomb contributing solid outings. However, the Rays extended their lead in the top of the ninth with a homer from Junior Caminero. Despite Soderstrom's fight to get on base in the bottom of the ninth, we couldn’t mount the comeback we hoped for. On to the next, A's fans, as we'll continue to support our team through thick and thin!
