A Tough Start in the First

Hey Jays fans! It was definitely a disappointing night for us at the Rogers Centre. The game started amidst high hopes, but the Rays' initial lead with Brandon Lowe hitting a two-run homer put us on the back foot right from the top of the 1st inning. 😟 Our Bo Bichette did manage a single, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. got on base with a walk, but despite having base runners, we weren't able to answer back in the first frame.

Bright Spots in the Mid-Innings

The middle innings weren't all doom and gloom, though! Addison Barger gave us a spark in the 2nd inning with his solo homer to right center—an absolute beauty that traveled 414 feet! 🚀 Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also stepped up in the 3rd inning with a solo shot to left, trimming the Rays lead to just 3-2. The crowd went wild! It felt like it was only a matter of time before we'd pull closer.

Struggles in the Later Innings

Unfortunately, the Rays continued to capitalize on our defensive lapses, extending their lead further with homers from Kameron Misner and Josh Lowe. Our pitching didn't hold up in the later innings as we'd hoped, even with Ureña and others stepping in relief. Adding more insult to injury, Brandon Lowe tagged another homer making it 8-3. We saw glimpses of potential with Nathan Lukes contributing a solo homer in the 8th, but it wasn't quite enough. Closed out in the 9th with some quick outs, we ended the game not where we wanted to be. Final score: Rays 8, Blue Jays 3.

Let's keep our heads up! There's always another game to look forward to, and we'll be back stronger to cheer our Jays on! 💙🔵 Make sure to share your thoughts below, and let's talk about how we can improve for our next matchup!
