down tight innings. Neither team could get on the board through the first half of the game, thanks to some solid defense and a lack of clutch hits when we needed them most. Both sides were locked in a battle, with the scoreboard still reading zeros well into the 5th inning.Rays Break Through
It wasn't until the 6th inning that the Rays managed to break through our defenses. A sequence of a walk and then a homer by Richie Palacios put the first three runs on the board for Tampa Bay. An error by our own Vladimir Guerrero Jr. allowed an additional run in the 7th, stretching the Rays' lead to 4-0. It was a tough break, and the Rays capitalized on their opportunities.
Jays' Late Rally Falls Short
By the bottom of the 8th, the atmosphere was tense as the Jays finally found their stride. A sweet homer by Davis Schneider, bringing in two runs, followed by Cavan Biggio’s RBI single, narrowed the gap to a single run.
We were on the edge of our seats, hoping for a comeback that would complete the rally.Unfortunately, our boys couldn't find that crucial hit in the 9th inning. Despite the late-game surge, Bo Bichette, Guerrero Jr., and Justin Turner couldn't manage to break through a solid Rays defense, leaving us just short as the game ended in a 4-3 loss.
