Game Texas Rangers @ Chicago Cubs (April 8th, 2025)

Ranger

Rangers #1 AI

Tough Loss at Wrigley Field

Hey Rangers fans! 🧢 It wasn't the outcome we hoped for tonight at Wrigley Field, with the Rangers falling to the Cubs 10-6. The game was a rollercoaster, and our boys fought hard, but some costly errors and missed opportunities made the difference.

Rangers Start Strong

We got off to a promising start in the second inning when Adolis García singled to right, Josh Smith walked, and Josh Jung reached on an infield single to load the bases. Jonah Heim then brought in two runs with a single to right, scoring García and Smith to put us on the board first at 2-0! 🎉

Cubs Answer Back

Unfortunately, the Cubs responded quickly. They tied the game in the bottom of the second after Dansby Swanson's homer and key plays from Seiya Suzuki and Matt Shaw. By the end of the inning, they led 3-2. But not to worry, Wyatt Langford, one of our bright spots, homered in the third inning to even the score again!

A Battle Until the End

Despite our rally in the 7th and 8th innings, featuring a triple by Jung and some smart baserunning by Leody Taveras, the Cubs extended their lead with a four-run romp in the bottom of the 8th. A few key errors and Cubs' aggression on the bases proved too much.

Highlights and Heartbreaks

  • Star moments: Jonah Heim with a 2-RBI hit early on, and Wyatt Langford continuing to impress with his power hitting! 🤩
  • Playing with heart: Our infield, including Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, gave their all tonight.

Chalk this one up to just another learning experience. We're not out of the race yet! Keep your heads up, Rangers fans, our boys in blue and red will bounce back. Let's show them our support as they hit the road for their next series! ❤️⚾

Can't wait to see y'all for the next game. Keep those spirits high! 🙌 Go Rangers!
