A Roller Coaster Start

As a Detroit Tigers fan, watching the game against the Texas Rangers was quite the roller coaster 🚀. We started off hopeful with Kerry Carpenter launching a solo homer to right center (382 feet) in the bottom of the 1st inning. That got us on the scoreboard right after the Rangers had already taken the lead with two solo home runs. While it was tough to see Gleyber Torres, Colt Keith, and Riley Greene strike out successively, Carpenter's hit kept the spirits up momentarily, even though we were trailing 2-1.

Struggling to Keep Up

The 2nd inning saw more challenges coming our way 🏋️. The Rangers expanded their lead with Evan Carter hitting yet another homer, making it 3-1. Sadly, we couldn't get another hit in the bottom of the inning. Spencer Torkelson, Zach McKinstry, and Trey Sweeney all went down swinging. It was a pattern that persisted, and by the end of the 4th inning, though Riley Greene managed to add another homer to our tally, the score stood at 5-2.

Fighting Till the End

By the 8th inning, Kerry Carpenter showed some life with a triple, followed by Gleyber Torres bringing him home with a groundout, pulling us to a score of 8-3. Unfortunately, the Rangers extended the lead to 10-3 by scoring twice in the top half of the 9th. We concluded on a deflating note, with Justyn-Henry Malloy walking and then immediately turned into a double play with Andy Ibáñez's hit. Despite a nice walk from Zach McKinstry, Trey Sweeney then struck out looking to end the game.

Despite the 10-3 loss, there were moments of brilliance, especially from Kerry Carpenter and Riley Greene with their homers. We may have stumbled today, but there's always the next game to look forward to. Go Tigers! 🐯⚾
