Tough Loss in Seattle
Well, Rangers fans, this one stings! The game had its highs and lows, but ultimately, our boys couldn't pull through and ended up falling short 3-2 to the Mariners.A Strong Start
We had a great beginning, thanks to Marcus Semien who led off with an infield single. Nathaniel Lowe doubled to center to bring Semien home, giving us the initial lead. Then Wyatt Langford singled to center field, allowing Lowe to score and making it 2-0 in our favor. Langford even stole second base, showing off his speed!
The Mariners Strike Back
Unfortunately, the Mariners responded quickly in the bottom of the first. Julio Rodriguez walked, and Mitch Garver followed up with a home run to center field, tying the game 2-2. It's hard to contain talent like that, but we kept fighting!A Defensive Battle
The game turned into a defensive duel after that. Our guys were grounded out or struck out during the second, third, and fourth innings while trying to regain the lead. Ezequiel Duran and Andrew Knizner both went down swinging in the top of the second. It was tough to see, but our pitchers did a solid job keeping the Mariners at bay until the bottom of the third.Decisive Moment
The critical moment came in the third when J.P. Crawford singled to center, and with Mitch Haniger also getting a hit, Julio Rodriguez grounded into a fielder's choice to drive Crawford home. That run sealed the game as the Mariners took the lead 3-2. Despite our best efforts, we could not recover.Late-Game Attempts
We had more attempts in the latter innings, notably in the 6th when Adolis García doubled to left and Wyatt Langford reached first base on a fielder's choice, but our rally fell short.In the 9th, Wyatt Langford brought some hope with a double to left, but pinch-hitter Josh Smith popped out to second, and Ezequiel Duran grounded out to third, ending the game.
