Hot Start by the Rangers
We jumped out of the gates with a bang! In the top of the first inning, Marcus Semien got on base after being hit by a pitch. Josh Smith followed it up with a single, setting the stage for early runs. Nathaniel Lowe brought Semien home with a solid single to right, and Josh Jung capitalized further, driving in Smith. What a way to start with a 2-0 lead!Holding Down the Fort
Our pitching staff and defense put in some solid work in the early innings. Despite a few hits and base-running threats by the Mariners, including a throwing error by Jonah Heim, we maintained our 2-0 lead through the first four innings. Hats off to our pitchers who kept the Mariners at bay!Power Burst
In the top of the 5th, Wyatt Langford belted a homer to left-field, extending our lead to 3-0. What an electric moment! That put us in a comfy spot, and we looked like we had this game well in hand.Small Ball Pays Off
We didn't rest on our laurels; we kept pushing. In the top of the 7th, Langford and Adolis García both walked, setting up Lowe for another RBI single to bring us up to a 4-0 lead. Things were looking really good for our Rangers!Mariners' Rally
Then came the bottom of the 7th, where the Mariners finally broke their scoring drought. A sacrifice fly by Cal Raleigh and a single by Randy Arozarena made it 4-2. Our relievers faced some pressure, and the Mariners weren't done yet.Heartbreaking 8th Inning
The bottom of the 8th inning was a disaster. Despite Leclerc and Robertson's best efforts, Julio Rodríguez hit a 419-foot homer, driving in three runs and flipping the score to 5-4 in the Mariners' favor. We just couldn't hold on to our lead.Ninth Inning Woes
Our last chance came in the top of the 9th inning. Unfortunately, Semien, Smith, and Langford couldn’t get on base against Muñoz, and we went down in order, sealing the unfortunate 5-4 loss. Conclusion
This one stings, Rangers fans. Despite a hot start and solid pitching early on, we couldn't hold it together in the late innings. We'll need to regroup and come back strong for the next game. Onward and upward!Go Rangers!
