Tough Loss Against the Braves

Hey Blue Jays fans, tough game tonight as our boys fell to the Braves 3-1. 😞

Early Struggles

The game got off to a rocky start for us. George Springer grounded out to shortstop in the first, and despite a promising walk from Daulton Varsho, we couldn't capitalize as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk both struck out. Not the start we were hoping for.

Braves Take the Lead

The Braves seized their opportunity in the bottom of the 2nd inning, scoring three runs. Jorge Soler walked, and Travis d'Arnaud followed up with a single. Then Jarred Kelenic singled to score Soler. Urshela kept the momentum going with another single, bringing d'Arnaud home. Finally, Michael Harris II scored Kelenic on a fielder's choice. Just like that, it was 3-0 Braves.

Our Lone Run

We got on the board in the top of the 3rd inning. Nathan Lukes singled to right and then advanced on a fielding error by Arcia. Varsho moved Lukes to third on a fielder's choice. Guerrero Jr. then grounded out to second but scored Lukes from third. It was 3-1, but that would end up being our only run of the game.

Final Efforts

We had a couple of chances late in the game. In the 6th inning, Guerrero Jr. and Kirk both singled, but we couldn't bring them home as Will Wagner and Leo Jimenez struck out. In the 7th, Springer singled and advanced to third on errors, but Varsho struck out, leaving him stranded.

The 9th gave us another glimmer of hope. Joey Loperfido doubled with two outs and Lukes singled to move him to third. Unfortunately, Springer struck out swinging to end the game.

Looking Ahead

It was a tough loss, but there were some bright spots. Let's hope our boys can bring the heat in the next game! 💪 #GoJaysGo
