Dominant First Inning for the O's
What a way to kick off the game! The Orioles started strong right out of the gate. After a somewhat quiet top of the 1st inning with the Blue Jays still scoreless, our bats came alive. Colton Cowser walked and quickly advanced with Anthony Santander and Gunnar Henderson following suit with walks.Ryan Mountcastle got us on the board with an RBI single, scoring Cowser. The inning was capped off with Ramon Urías and James McCann contributing with patience and smart at-bats, pushing our lead to 4-0.
Relentless in the 3rd and 4th Innings
The Orioles offense was on full display as we entered the 3rd inning. After a smooth top half where Blue Jays couldn't score, Jordan Westburg doubled to left. Urías' productive groundout brought Westburg home, adding another to our tally, making it 5-0.But we weren’t done yet! The 4th inning saw Cowser reach base, advance, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan O'Hearn. Westburg then doubled in Henderson. By the end of the inning, our lead had stretched to a commanding 7-0.
The Blue Jays' Answer and Our Dominance Continues
The Blue Jays tried to mount a comeback in the 5th with Addison Barger hitting a three-run homer, cutting our lead to 7-3. But our boys remained unfazed. The bottom of the 5th saw Cedric Mullins double, followed by a sac fly by Cowser to score Mullins. Then, Santander blasted a two-run homer to right center, pushing our lead to a whopping 10-3!In the 6th and 7th Innings
Our defense and pitching held strong with no runs given up in the 6th, while O’s pitcher Akin allowed only a solo homer to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the 7th, making it 10-4 in favor of the Orioles.Insurance in the 8th & Closing It Out
The 8th inning was the icing on the cake. Mountcastle hit a solo homer to right (367 feet), extending our lead to 11-4. Though the Blue Jays managed one more run in the 9th, it wasn't enough to rain on our parade. Cristian Pache's single and Westburg's double continued to show the depth and consistency of our offensive lineup.A convincing 11-5 victory! Our Orioles played like true champions tonight. Let's keep this momentum going!
