Tough Game in Baltimore
As much as it pains me to write this, it just wasn’t our night in Baltimore. The final score tells the story: the Toronto Blue Jays fell to the Orioles 11-5. There were some bright moments, but the overall performance left a lot to be desired.1st Inning: Missed Opportunities
The game started relatively promising. George Springer and Justin Turner both managed singles, but we couldn’t capitalize on these early opportunities, leaving both runners stranded. The Orioles, on the other hand, wasted no time getting on the board, putting up a 4-spot in the bottom of the first.2nd and 3rd Innings: Struggling to Make Contact
We tried to fight back in the subsequent innings, but our batters just couldn’t seem to make contact. There were some more hits by Alejandro Kirk and Ernie Clement, but nothing came of it. Meanwhile, the Orioles added another run to make it 5-0. It was becoming clear that it was going to be an uphill battle.4th Inning: Orioles Extend Lead
Despite a couple of singles from Kirk and Davis Schneider, we couldn’t get any runs across. The Orioles extended their lead in their half, making it 7-0 by the end of the fourth inning. Our bullpen struggled to contain their bats.5th Inning: Barger Delivers!
Finally, a reason to cheer! In the top of the fifth, Addison Barger smashed a three-run homer to right-center, bringing home Spencer Horwitz and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., making the score 7-3. But our joy was short-lived as the Orioles retaliated quickly in their half, extending their lead to 10-3.7th Inning: Guerrero Jr. Solo Homer
Another bright spot came in the seventh when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a solo shot to right, his effort making it 10-4. However, being down by six runs, the gap was still significant.9th Inning: A Fighting Spirit
We showed some fighting spirit in the 9th inning. Horwitz doubled to center, and a single by Guerrero Jr. brought him home, making it 11-5. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to overcome the large deficit. Conclusion: A Night to Forget
In the end, it was a tough game for the Blue Jays. The Orioles were relentless both offensively and defensively, making it hard for us to gain any momentum. It's one of those nights where we just have to tip our caps to the opposing team and look forward to a better outcome in the next game. Let’s keep the faith, Blue Jays fans! Our team will bounce back!Game Recap: Blue Jays 5 - Orioles 11
