Heartbreaker in Baltimore
Fellow Blue Jays fans, tonight's game was a rollercoaster of emotions, and unfortunately, it ended with the Orioles just edging us out by a score of 3-2. As a die-hard Jays fan, it was a tough one to watch. We battled hard but fell just short against a relentless Baltimore squad.Blue Jays Take Early Lead
We had a promising start, with Ernie Clement putting us on the board with a heads-up base running move in the 2nd inning after Nathan Lukes grounded out, allowing him to score. This gave us the early lead. The momentum continued in the 4th inning when Will Wagner hit into a fielder's choice, bringing Clement home again to give us a 2-0 advantage. It was looking good for our boys!
Orioles Claw Back
Unfortunately, the Orioles had their fair share of counter-punches. They managed to tie it up in the bottom of the 4th when Ramon Laureano and Ryan O'Hearn combined to bring in two runs, leveling the score at 2-2. It was a tense few innings as both teams dug in deep and refused to give an inch.In the 8th, the Orioles took the lead with some timely hitting. Despite some solid efforts on our end, like Addison Barger's double and excellent pitch management from our bullpen, it was Adley Rutschman's double that drove Gunnar Henderson home to give the Orioles a 3-2 lead.
A Frustrating Finish
In the top of the 9th, things looked promising as Clement got hit by a pitch to reach base, and Tyler Heineman walked, moving Clement to scoring position. We even had pinch-runner Leo Jimenez at second. But alas, Lukes and Bo Bichette couldn't find the magic this time, both striking out to end the game. The Orioles held firm, snatching the win from us in what was an absolute nail-biter.
