A Tough Day at Coors Field
Ouch, Rockies fans...
Early Inning Struggles
The game started off with a lot of hope for us, but that hope quickly faded. In the top of the 1st inning, the Jays were on the board with a single from Bo Bichette allowing Nathan Lukes to score easily. By the 3rd inning, the scoreboard leaned heavily in favor of Toronto, punctuated by a three-run homer from Daulton Varsho that pushed the Blue Jays’ lead to 9-0. Our boys just couldn't keep up with their barrage.
A Glimmer of Hope
We finally saw a glimmer of offense in the 5th inning. Tyler Freeman doubled to give us some spark, and a single by Ezequiel Tovar brought him home to erase the dreaded zero from our side of the scoreboard! It wasn’t much, but at least it was something to cheer for in the midst of the Blue Jays' rout. Thanks, Tovar!
Concluding on a Gritty Note
After the 5th inning, the Blue Jays continued to pile it on, with Bo Bichette adding another home run in the 7th, and Ernie Clement contributing with a clutch hit in the 9th to finalize their total at 15 runs. Our pitchers had a tough time containing their lineup, but hats off to them for their effort. Sometimes the scoreboard doesn’t reflect the grit and grind that's put in on the field. Here's hoping for a better showing next time out, Rockies Nation. Let's keep cheering for our team and show them the support they need. Go Rockies!
