Tough Loss in a Close Battle

Hey Jays fans, what a game we had today! Despite our best efforts, the Blue Jays fell short to the Marlins in a 3-5 loss. We started off a bit slowly, as both teams were scoreless through the first two innings. A remarkable homer by Eric Wagaman in the third for the Marlins put them in the lead. Our bats couldn't quite connect in the early innings to reply to the Marlins' advances.

A Glimmer of Hope

The game took a turn in the bottom of the 5th inning when Jakob Marsee hit a bases-clearing triple, increasing the Marlins’ lead to 4-0. However, in the top of the 7th inning, Daulton Varsho gave us a ray of hope with a massive 424-foot three-run homer to center field! Bichette and France both getting on base set the perfect scene for Varsho's blast 💥. Suddenly, it was a 4-3 ballgame, and we were back in contention!

Final Push

Unfortunately, the Marlins’ Agustin Ramírez drove home one more run in the 7th, and our bats went silent as we approached the end of the game. Our attempts to rally late in the 8th and 9th innings included putting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. up as a pinch hitter, but we just couldn't manage to bring any more runs home 😞.

Despite the loss, it's games like these that build character and resilience in our team. We keep our heads up and look forward to the next opportunity to show our power! Let's go, Blue Jays 💙🦅!
