Blue Jays Triumph in Tight Battle Against Mariners! 😊

Our Toronto Blue Jays pulled off a thrilling 5-4 victory against the Seattle Mariners in a nail-biting game! 💙⚾

Pitching Dominance Early On

Both teams started strong on the mound, keeping the game scoreless through three innings. The Mariners' hitters were no match for our pitching, with J.P. Crawford, Josh Rojas, and Cal Raleigh each retired in the bottom of the 1st inning. Our bats were a bit quiet too, but there were some promising signs with George Springer getting a double.

Breaking the Deadlock!

We got on the board in the 4th inning. After Alejandro Kirk doubled to left, bringing in Daulton Varsho, we saw the beginnings of what would be an exciting game. Following this, small ball did the trick, pushing up our score to 1-0.

Extending The Lead

Our Blue Jays added another run in the 5th inning thanks to a clutch single by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., scoring George Springer from second base. The Mariners pitching staff started feeling the heat as they couldn't contain our bats. By the 8th inning, we pushed our lead to 5-0, with contributions from Kevin Kiermaier's ground rule double and Guerrero Jr.'s sac fly.

Mariners' Late Push 😅

The Mariners did make things interesting in the bottom of the 8th. Mitch Haniger delivered a three-run homer to cut our lead to 5-3. With Moore reaching second base on a wild pitch, the tension was at its peak! However, a key strikeout by Chad Green ended the inning without further damage.

Holding on For the Win! 💪

In the 9th, Luke Raley hit a solo homer to make it 5-4, but Julian Merryweather ensured there wasn't any fairy tale comeback, securing those crucial final outs. Big shoutout to our defense for sticking it out and especially to Clement for that crucial catch to seal the game!

An amazing and nail-biting win for our Blue Jays! Let's keep this momentum rolling. Go Jays Go! 💙🎉
