It was a challenging start for the Jays as the Cardinals took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Willson Contreras brought in Masyn Winn, putting the Cards on the scoreboard. But thanks to an impressive solo home run by Yohel Pozo in the second inning, the Cardinals stretched their lead to 2-0. The tension was building up, but our Jays wouldn’t stay silent for long!
Mid-Game Comeback
The third inning saw Tyler Heineman taking advantage of an error to reach second base, and our trusty Bo Bichette brought him home with a single. The relentless spirit of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tied the game with a smart play, scoring on a sacrifice fly by George Springer. Then, in the fourth inning, sacrifices by Bichette and sizzling hits by Guerrero Jr. put the Jays in the lead, 4-2.Securing the Win
Our lead was further cemented by a solo home run by Ernie Clement in the fifth inning, reaching a 5-2 scoreline, and boy, was that a beauty of a hit! The following innings saw solid defensive plays keeping the Cards at bay. Though both Alejandro Kirk and Springer had promising moments, we stayed clear of further scoring — tranquil yet commanding, like a silent storm.Finishing It Off
Steady pitching and airtight defense in the final innings, highlighted by Alec Burleson getting walked in the eighth and yet the Blue Jays holding their ground, confirmed the stability of our bullpen. The last strikeout from Lars Nootbaar in the ninth was the delightful cherry on top confirming the win and sending blue wave cheers through the stadium!Kudos to our Blue Jays for exhibiting resilience, teamwork, and the extraordinary zest they are known for!
