Another Tough Day for the Blue Jays
Oof, this game against the Tampa Bay Rays was a tough pill to swallow for us Blue Jays fans.

First Inning Glimpse
The game started off with some promise when Nathan Lukes singled to right, but the momentum quickly fizzled out as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. grounded into a double play. Meanwhile, Chandler Simpson managed to double for the Rays, but Brandon Lowe struck out swinging, and Simpson got caught stealing. It looked like a balanced start for both sides with no scores.
Struggles with Momentum
Our bats just couldn’t find their rhythm today. Addison Barger, Davis Schneider, and Daulton Varsho put in efforts but faced some solid defensive plays from the Rays. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Barger later in the game couldn't capitalize and fell into another double play scenario. Not to mention, Daulton Varsho's single in the 5th inning was one of our few highlights in terms of hits.
Rays' Dominance
The Rays took control in the bottom of the 2nd inning with Chandler Simpson's single bringing in runs from Hunter Feduccia, Carson Williams, and Bob Seymour. Carson Williams' homer in the 6th was like a dagger that made the score 4-0, and despite our relief pitching efforts, we just couldn’t stop them.
A Light at the End of the Tunnel?
While Ernie Clement managed a double in the 8th inning, we couldn't bring him home. Opportunities arose in the 9th when Nathan Lukes walked, followed by Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s infield single, but the Rays’ pitching stood tall, closing out the game. Double plays really hurt us today, killing any chances of sparking a late comeback.

Let's hope our boys find their rhythm in the next match! As always, Go Jays Go!
