The game began with our pitching putting in solid work. We kept the Blue Jays scoreless through the first four innings. In the top of the 1st, after a single from Vladimir Guerrero Jr., our defense didn’t allow any runs. Kudos to our guys for holding the line early on!Rays Strike First!
In the bottom of the 2nd inning, our offense began to click. Jonathan Aranda walked, and Christopher Morel followed with a single. Josh Lowe's flyout advanced Aranda to third. With two outs, Ben Rortvedt delivered a clutch single to left, scoring Aranda and giving the Rays a 1-0 lead!Aranda’s Big Blast!
The bottom of the 3rd inning was huge! Yandy Diaz walked, then with two outs, Jonathan Aranda stepped up and crushed a 414-foot homer to center field, scoring Diaz and extending our lead to 3-0. The Trop was electric!Blue Jays Respond, Rays Hold On
By the 5th inning, the Blue Jays started chipping away. Nathan Lukes walked, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled, and Spencer Horwitz drove in Lukes. The score was now 3-1. In the 7th, Alejandro Kirk tripled to center, scoring Horwitz, and making it a one-run game at 3-2. Our bullpen was tested, but they held firm!Clutch Relief Pitching
In the final innings, our bullpen was lights-out. Drew Rasmussen relieved Garrett Cleavinger for a three-strikeout performance in the 8th. Then, in the 9th, we saw solid defense and pitching. With Junior Caminero making a crucial single in the 8th and strategic defensive changes, we secured the win. The Blue Jays couldn’t get past our defense in the top of the 9th. The game ended on Guerrero Jr.'s flyout to right, and the Tropicana Field erupted in celebration!Our pitching, timely hitting, and sharp defense were the keys to this thrilling 3-2 victory.
