A Tough Start
Today was a tough one for our Arizona Diamondbacks as they faced off against the Nationals. Right from the start, it was clear that things weren’t going our way. The top of the 1st inning saw the Nationals go on an absolute tear. Unfortunately, our starting pitcher got into early trouble, allowing a slew of hits and runs. Before we could blink, the Nationals were up 10-0. Not quite the start we were hoping for, that's for sure!Finding Our Groove
Despite the rocky start, our boys found some momentum. In the bottom of the 4th inning, Geraldo Perdomo managed a single, which was quickly followed up by Josh Naylor's massive home run to right center, driving in two runs. It was the spark we needed to get back into the game, making it 11-2. The momentum continued into the 6th inning. Pavin Smith smashed a triple, bringing in two runs, followed by Gabriel Moreno and Randal Grichuk each bringing the heat at bat. Grichuk's two-run homer was a beaut!
Falling Short
While we managed to halt the Nationals' scoring onslaught after their early lead, their defense locked down any further advances. We had some chances, particularly in the 8th with Pavin Smith and Gabriel Moreno getting on base, but that elusive big hit didn't come through. The 9th inning was our last stand, but sadly, we couldn’t muster the runs needed to bridge the gap. The final score was 11-7 in favor of the Nationals. A tough loss, but there's always the next game. We'll regroup and aim for that sweet victory! Let's go, D-backs!
