A Nail-Biting Victory
What a game, Nationals fans! Our Washington Nationals held on to clinch a tight 2-1 win over the Chicago Cubs, and it was definitely a game to remember. It was a pitching duel like no other—solid defense, timely hitting, and intense innings—but in the end, we came out on top.
A Strong Start
The game kicked off with a bang as CJ Abrams got us off to a flying start by doubling to right field. That set up James Wood who singled, advancing Abrams to third. The roar of the crowd filled the stadium when Jorge Alfaro delivered with an RBI single to bring Abrams home.

Defensive Showdown
The Cubs answered back in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a run, but our pitching and defense shone brightly throughout the rest of the game.

Lile's Moment of Magic
In the top of the 4th, Daylen Lile came out swinging and smashed a home run to right field, putting us back in the lead, 2-1. That was the game-changer we needed!

Holding the Fort
Heading into the last few innings, it was a test of nerves. Jake Ferrer shut down the Cubs in the 8th, and Henry came in to close it out with authority in the 9th. Not a single moment did the Cubs get too close for comfort.
This victory feels especially sweet, Nationals fans! It was an all-around team effort, and it showed just how capable our line-up is under pressure. Let's savor this win and look optimistically toward the next game. Go Nats!
