Victory for the Royals!
️
What a fantastic game at Kauffman Stadium for the Royals as they secured a 7-4 victory over the Washington Nationals! The boys in blue put on a superb display, making every Royal fan proud.
Game-Changing Plays
Things looked a bit dicey early on with the Nationals grabbing a quick lead. In the top of the 1st inning, Josh Bell's 422-foot homer put Washington ahead with a score of 2-0. However, our Boys in Blue showed resilience. The bottom of the 2nd saw Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez grinding and setting the pace for the team, leading to Adam Frazier scoring and cruising us to 2-2.Salvador Perez tied things up in the 6th with a stunning 404-foot homer that sent Maikel Garcia running to home plate. Then, the sky lit up when Kyle Isbel smashed a two-run homer to make it 6-4. In the 8th inning, Mike Yastrzemski added a cushion with a sacrifice fly, bringing the score to 7-4.
Pitching Excellence
Hats off to our pitchers, especially the relief stars! Kris Lynch IV did well to mitigate any further damage after DeJong’s homer. Schreiber and Zerpa effectively kept the Nationals in check, and Estévez sealed the deal in the 9th inning, ensuring no further runs for Washington. This was a team effort from start to finish, showcasing the strength of the Royals' roster. It's games like these that remind us why we love Kansas City baseball. Here's to more victories!
