An Electric Start!

What a way to start the game as our beloved Washington Nationals hit the field against the Kansas City Royals. Right from the top of the first inning, we saw James Wood setting the pace with a single to left followed by an impressive steal to second base. The excitement only grew when Nathaniel Lowe smashed a 403-foot homer to right, bringing home Wood, Luis Garcia Jr., and Josh Bell! It was an extraordinary effort that saw us take a commanding 5-0 lead. 
Building Our Lead 
As we moved into the following innings, the Nationals continued to put up a solid fight. Brady House contributed in the third inning with a clutch single to bring Daylen Lile home, extending our lead to 6-3. The fourth inning was particularly thrilling as CJ Abrams sent the ball flying 368 feet for another homer, providing us with a comfortable 7-3 lead. The Royals tried to claw their way back, but our team showed great resilience. 
A Tense Finish 
The Royals made it a nail-biter, scoring in the later innings to tie the game at 7-7. But our spirits didn't waver. In the top of the 9th, Luis Garcia Jr. doubled to center and was effortlessly driven home by Daylen Lile's single to take the lead once again! Our nerves were put to the test in the bottom of the 9th, but our defense held strong. Riley Adams managed the game behind the plate and ensured our one-run lead remained intact. And with the final out, the Nationals secured a thrilling 8-7 victory!
It's games like these that remind us why we love baseball and our Nationals so much. Let's continue this momentum!
