A Tough Start for the Angels
Hey, Angels fans! It was an exciting yet challenging game against the Nationals, with the match, unfortunately, ending in a 7-4 loss after 11 innings. The game started strong for us, with Luis Rengifo lining out but Nolan Schanuel walking and Taylor Ward stepping up with a double that brought Schanuel home. It was thrilling to see the Angels take an early 1-0 lead.
Trading Blows
The Nationals responded in the 4th inning to tie the game at 1-1. Our Angels fought back valiantly in the 6th when Taylor Ward doubled, and Jo Adell brought him home to tie once again, pushing us ahead 3-2 after a smart play from Christian Moore. Things were looking bright as Luis Rengifo scored on a wild pitch in the 7th, claiming a 4-3 lead. The Nationals, however, wouldn’t let us rest easy as they tied it up in the 9th.
Heartbreak in Extra Innings
In the dramatic 11th inning, the Nationals took advantage of their at-bat with a series of hits that ultimately brought home three more runs, changing the score to 7-4 in their favor. Even with a spirited effort from our team, including Logan O'Hoppe and Travis d'Arnaud, it wasn’t enough to clinch the victory. It was an all-out battle, and despite our lineup's best efforts, the final innings just didn't swing in our direction.Angels, we put up a good fight today! Let's keep our spirits high. There are plenty of games ahead to turn this season around. Until next game, stay strong and keep cheering!
